Radiation Safety Directorate since 2010 has established cooperation with the National Institute for Radioelements in Fleurus, Belgium. Each year the Radiation Safety Directorate is submitting a request to National Institute for Radioelements in Fleurus for projects that would be of interest for cooperation in the field of radiation and nuclear safety and security.

Each year the Radiation Safety Directorate is submitting a request to National Institute for Radioelements in Fleurus for projects that would be of interest for cooperation in the field of radiation and nuclear safety and security. Several bilateral projects funded by the Ministry of Economy of the Kingdom of Belgium have been successfully completed. Within these projects Radiation Safety Directorate has received equipment for monitoring of radiation and it has been transferred to the Institute of Pathophysiology and Nuclear Medicine, Medical Faculty in Skopje. Also, under these bilateral projects Radiation Safety Directorate has received expert assistance to strengthen their capacities, legislation and regulation.

2015: bilateral project Macedonia - Belgium: Assistance to the Radiation Safety Directorate to improve the current regulations related to the Cyclotron and PET/CT facilities, and installation of a GPRS communication on the monitoring equipment installed at the Institute of Pathophysiology and Nuclear Medicine, Medical Faculty in Skopje
